View Full Version : Excessive Hard Disc Activity

System: Windows 98 SE, 266MHz Pentium II. I have installed Norton system Works 2002, as an upgrade from NSW 2001. New features include Goback, process viewer etc as well as Norton Antivirus 8.
Since installing, with no programmes open, just the desktop there is excessive hard drive activity with the drive indicator lit continuously. Sounds like the system is in defrag mode.
Closing other programmes like norton antivirus, zonealarm, task scheduler makes no difference.
Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
Cheers

Go back is doing a systematic image backup of your system so that it can form safepoints where you can revert to. only way to stop it is to disable goback which incidently requires about 5% to 10% of your hard drive to operate it has saved my PC about 6x so far keep it if you are always trying out new or risky software.
