im keen to try linux, but where to start.Heaps of info on the web but i am looking for real basic newbie stuff.
i dont know much about dual booting etc.
can anybody suggest a good info source that starts right at the beginning?

At the top of the PCWorld page, type 'Reading list for Linux' into the search window.
(for some reason the 'Site' button finds it, but the 'PressF1' does not.) That should show my posting of 27/10/01. Click on that. The 'Getting started' guide is good; so are the books -- try your public library.

There is heaps of stuff on the web and lots of books - my suggestion based on my own experience is to buy a book (e.g. 'Using RedHat Linux' QUE) which will come with the OS on CD - work through the book with the same distribution and version installed - a good way to avoid heaps of frustration!!
