View Full Version : No sound in YouTube videos? They were OK last week, but are now totally mute!

Every time I try to access videos I have previously viewed, plus new ones - using the latest versions of Internet Explorer and Firefox - I get absolutely no sound. There's a small cross beside the sound control under the video screen, where there used to be sound waves.
I would really appreciate any and all suggestions as to why this has happened. I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro C850 running Windows 7, and use NOD32 (64-bit version)... Tidy_Tony

Thanks S G, however that's not working either, so I still need an answer...

Can you get any sound at all? Or is it only YouTube giving the problem?

When you hold your mouse cursor over the speaker that has the X what word(s) show

Example --- I muted the sound:

Had a similar problem with Youtybe sound, somehow the volume control had set to zero, not mute.

Have you tried dragging the little bar to the right of the 'X' all the way to the right? The new changes on Youtube appear to have broken a lot of the sites functionality. I can no longer click on the 'X' to unmute videos.
