I am trying to use system restore to correct/remove a folder which seems to be corrupt. However I get the message " Your computer is
running in a limited diagnostic state. If you use system restore, you cannot undo the restore operation."

"Help topics are not available in this state"

Well... what to do now ! If I need to supply my user name, but more importantly, my password, then no matter what I enter in
these fields, they are rejected, perhaps not the user name, but certainly the password. I have tried all of the passwords that I have
previously used, but none work !

Bugger

Try it in Command Prompt, may or may not work better:

Run System Restore in Command Prompt

1. Boot into Safe mode with Command Prompt Keep Pressing F8 at start-up then with the arrow keys select Safe mode with Command prompt.

2. At the command prompt, type C:\windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe <Press Enter.>

Follow the instructions given to perform the System Restore process.

Thanks Wanuitech, worked a treat.
