Or if you know someone who's on Ebay / or if youre on Ebay (http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=Satellite+L505&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.XSatellite+L5 00+wifi&_nkw=Satellite+L500+wifi&_sacat=0). That may not be the part (the 1st one). But if its got a P/N on it, type it in

Thats where / how I replaced the keyboard for this HP netbook here.

Sister paid for it on Ebay in oz, it was shipped from US / NY, arrived here a week later. In my case the keyboard was a lot cheaper on Ebay than in NZ (it was $160 NZ compared to $26.09 AU inc postage I think it was ).

Could well be, it says it's compatable with this model PSLSOA-016002
Havent opened up the case yet to see what the part no is.
Going by the specs for that model it could be Intel, Realtek or Atheros.
Of course the owner wants to know costing before proceeding.
Which doesent help.

Dont think it'll matter, if you get Atheros, Intel or Realtek. As long as it says its for that model, it should work

Wifi installed OK.

This unit is running Win7 x86.
It won't update to SP1 for some reason.
Goes through the motions but comes up with failed.

This one.
windows6.1-KB976932-X86.exe

Error details code 80070643

Have looked at what that suggests.

It has Office 07 installed but not activated.
Could that possibly be the cause.

You didnt install Mcafee did you?? Looks like this can cause this error. This maybe a .net framework problem, as stated here (http://techbytesxpress.com/2012/10/10/a-new-official-tool-for-fixing-windows-net-4-framework-problems/)

Another MS site to do with .net and that error code (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976982#method1)

And another site with the possible fix (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/1dbd6c43-0f46-400b-9961-3510d76f85b2/windows-7-sp-1-install-with-error-0x80070643-windows-7-service-pack-1-for-x64based-systems)

It maybe MSI corruption

AV is MSSE.
I think I've sorted the problem.
Downloaded that update manually & then it installed ok.
Currently doing a heap more updates that have now come through as a result.
