View Full Version : Download Problems -IE10 & Firefox

I am having difficulties downloading files from well-trusted sites. Using Firefox, it ignores my choice of 'save as' location and files them in a user/ download library file but will not allow me to open them.

Using IE10 (Version 10.0.07) it tells me that every single file I try to download, from varying sources, contains a virus, and kills the download.

Have I got a conflict with having both Browsers (& Chrome) active, with none selected as a default?

Any other thoughts would be appreciated.

The only issue I remember concerning downloads was the old NV force4 chipset with the hardware firewall enabled...It would corrupt every download.... If your PC isnt that old, and all your downloads arent working no matter the browser, I would imagine you have some sort of virus...
You might try a few malware problem scan to rule that out...

A few questions:
What AV & firewall are you using . Is IE clean, ie no toolbars or addons .
What sites. Some sites, although respected, inject other programs into the download
Are these downloads zips, or exe's

Have you tried going to the download folder & running from there , rather than push the run button after download ?
