I'm new to installing RAM, but having read how easily it can be done I thought I might give it a go (my laptop has another slot for RAM). The current 4GB RAM in my laptop says it is "4GB 2RX8 PC3-12800S-11-11-FP". I looked online and found this (http://www.playtech.co.nz/afawcs0139235/CATID=254/ID=20204/SID=991796883/CORSAIR-CMZ4GX3M1A1600C11-Vengeance-4GB-240-Pin-DDR3-SDRAM-DDR3-1600-PC3-12800-Desktop-Memory.html) but it only says that it is PC3 12800. So my question is does the S, the 11's and the FP matter? Or will this be compatible?

Also, how much should I be paying for RAM?

Cheers

The RAM linked wont work, its desktop RAM, not Laptop. You want SO-DIMM

Going by what you listed, heres he choices from Playtech http://www.playtech.co.nz/afawcs0139234/CATID=255/DDR3-Notebook-SO-DIMM.html

Depending on the make and model of laptop will depend on how much you can install.
