View Full Version : wayward mouse 2

Thanks Heather , Mike and Pam for your responses to my post. I have begged another mouse and it worked, obviously the wayward buttons cased the applications to get mucked around, I have mended the O2000 and it all works well. I can't believe that a mechanical device could act so strange.

Now pull the old one apart, see how it works and test the switches - nice firm click or sloppy? Note that the last mouse that died on me seemed fine so I think the cable broke on the cheap, rough, plastic case.

If a mouse sticks - it needs cleaning, if it goes beserk - replace it.

I have taken the mouse apart several times but didn't realise there was such a build up on the spring wheel. I have navigated around the screen without the ball and it seemed to be ok...
c'est la vie... programmed obsolescence of 'l'ancien technologie'.... where was that mousetrap?... Thanks again, Geoffh
