View Full Version : Soundcloud - No Sound

11-07-2013, 03:07 PM
I have some songs on Soundcloud - https://soundcloud.com/#denny-g1
I also have a Blog - http://dennygmusic.blogspot.co.nz/
When I go to my Blog, I can not get the music to play. When I go to my Soundcloud and logon, I can get the music to play. Are there some setting on my Blog that I have to configure or on my laptop? Or are there any setting in the link between the Blog and Soundcloud. Any ideas /suggestion on how to fix this problem. If I use another persons PC to access the Blog, the songs all play, the same as in Soundcloud. Your help will be appreciated.

It tries to open this link

https://w.soundcloud.com/player/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Fusers%2F468 92839

At least for me, if I paste this in Internet Explorer, it doesn't work

There are 3 possibilities

1) Your music link might be malformed

2) it could be blocked by a "pop-up" blocker

3) Play sound and media could be blocked within your browser

If your blog has the right link, then it should play when you click this link, I believe

I noticed that the blog didn't even display the sound files under IE9, but did under Firefox 22 and Chrome 28. They also played OK with Firefox and Chrome from the blog. Nice talent swampy. :)

Hi Jen - Thanks for the kind comment. Yes I checked using Chrome and it works for me as well. How can I get it to work with IE9 ?

All worked fine on my IE10 under win8 and also fine on my IE9 under Vista. Doesn't help solve your problem but happy to help pin down the differences.

Have you tried your IE9 with no addons?

All worked fine on my IE10 under win8 and also fine on my IE9 under Vista.Interesting because my IE9 under Vista does not work on the blog. Doesn't even display the sound widget.

What type of widget did you use on your blog? I see Soundcloud offer flash and HTML5 widgets. Try a different one and see if this helps.

Agree, really strange. His blogsite 'just works' here.

OK, think I have found something helpful. I can replicate the problem by turning on 'ActiveX filtering'. Stops both IE9 and 10.

My IE10 seems to need Shockwave Flash Object enabled as well.
