View Full Version : Profiles Problem

I have 4 Profiles for different users on my PC. Originally, (before a technician sorted out an operating system problem), when I switched on the computer, a window would appear with the profile names. However, now that my computer has been 'fixed' (yeah, right!), one has to click on CANCEL, before the computer will show the profile logon window. Can someone give me an idea how to fix this. (Please don't tell me I have to backup, then delete and re-install the profiles again!!!)

More Info please. What is the OS, what is the cancel button you push refering to, is it a third party program being used to login?

OS - Windows 98SE
When the computer first boots, a plain desktop shows...(no Windows Password Message Box). I then have to click on START, LOG OFF. However, once I've done this, the Windows 98 Password Message Box is there with the 4 profiles.
As mentioned earlier, I didn't need to START, LOG OFF to get the profiles showing originally. (There are only 4 *.pwl files that show on the computer).
