I have read the thread about an alternative to Mozilla Firebird. What is the best alternative for Thunderbird - excluding Microsoft? I have been happy using Mozilla for the years but they seem to be getting slower with all the 'extras' that appear each update. OS is Vista Home with dual boot to Lubuntu at the moment.

In what way is it slow? Got a Vista machine with TB on it and it seems OK, speedwise.

It appears that over the years there have been a few 'Add-ons' loaded on Thunderbird which I have now cleaned out! I have been very happy with the Mozilla Family products with only one major crash with Thunderbird. That is why I now use MozBackup. Has anyone been using SRWare Iron?

Are you talking about Thunderbird, the email client or Firefox, the browser ??
