Hi, just setting up a Windows 8 laptop. Having some problems with admin rights and permissions. It won't allow me to delete or edit certain files.
It's really annoying! :annoyed: Do you guys know what to do? I've tried the net administrator account activation. Doesn't show up in the user accounts.
I would like full admin rights for everything. Thanks. :)

What files are you trying to delete/edit? It certainly won't like you playing with system files.

Have a read of http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/5509-user-account-control-uac-change-settings-windows-8-a.html Read it ALL ( first scroll down to the question / answers #2) -- if you change the PC so you have full control, then you will also break some of the start menu operations.

Certainly can be a nuisance. I've used the rt click/Take ownership on a folder or file that I wanted to modify.

Thanks all sorted now. Did a little of my own research too.
