I've just installed PCwizard to check the temps on this netbook. And it shows 51 for the CPU 60 for the videocard. And 59 for ACPI. Are these temps too high?

That's nothing ; my AMD HP laptop runs around 80-90 for the CPU.

You probably should have disabled the portable stove function.

You certainly don't need a heater in winter to warm up your room! :D

Problem is the tablet shut itself off 5 minutes after booting and needed a desk fan to actually work :p

Yep, my Eee PC netbook is fanless and gets so hot you can hardly put your hand underneath it, a few times over summer it shut itself down because it got to hot. I dont think I would worry to much about those temps Speedy.

Yes they are on the high side. But for netbooks with minimal cooling you're not going to get much better.

Sweet ok I wont worry about it. Pity I'll have to leave defender on it. With MSE it takes twice as long to boot into windows. I'll have to wait till a new update comes out. To see if its any better

It maybe because of the netbook, its only 1.6 ghz and 2 GB. Its ok on the desktop tho. But yup, I installed it on the netbook and it took over a minute (took another 20-30 secs after the welcome screen appeared) to boot into windows.

Once I removed it went down to 30-33 secs. Probably use defender, it wont be online all the time. All I'll be using it for is for word (just installed office on it, using poweriso and an ISO). Since it doesnt have a cd/dvd
