The old blue screen of death is alive and well on my HP Pavilion Entertainment PC running XP Professional. Trouble is there is a hell of a lot of wording and only about 3 seconds to read it before laptop closes down. Picking some things I have managed to see. System closing down to prevent damage. Reference to Bios. and technical info at the end.

Seems to happen when viewing video clips.

On this brief info can anyone assist or alternatively advise how I can keep the message on screen long enough to get the full message??

Many thanks Mervyn

If you get into windows disable auto-restart. If you cant reboot hold F8 down wait for the menu select disable auto-restart

When it's booted up, and in Windows, you can also right-click on Computer --> Properties --> Advanced --> Then under Startup and Recovery click on Settings
Untick the box that says "Automatically restart"

If it's happening when playing video, it's possibly overheating, or an issue with drivers. Update your video drivers first of all, and if possible blow out any dust that may have built up inside the system.
