Is that possible to block open vpn (hot spot shield) in a router ????


I am using thomson TG585 v7 in my workplace.

I googled but returned empty...

Is that possible to block it ??????

Yes, but not with the TG585. They're horrible routers anyways so good excuse to replace it ;)

Get something like a Gargoyle router :)

Pretty much as Chill said, you can block VPNs (openVPN and PPTP especially) in routers effectively using 3rd party firmware such as gargoyle or DD-WRT however you can't do it with the Thompson.

Replace it with a better unit, should cost less than $100 for a nice modem/router unit which will out perform the Thompson unit by far. Most of the custom router firmware are very customisable and flexible software that will make managing your network much easier. Your network will be very much better off with it
