Is there such a site for searching for NZ deaths for previous 10 years.

What about cemetery records if you know where the person is buried.

You should find the numbers - if that's what you're after - here:

Statistics New Zealand (http://www.stats.govt.nz/infoshare/default.aspx?gclid=CJvvvb6mvrQCFckhpQodfXQAsg&AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1)

Here is the situation, I am wanting to find out if a certain person has actually died.
I do not wish to contact the family & ask.

A Memory Tree (http://www.amemorytree.co.nz/index.php)
:)

That sort of works.
Put in a few names to check.
Dosent seem to find all of them.
Apparently my father is still alive.
I fairly certain we buried him.

I have found fatalities records in NZ Archway Archives (http://www.archway.archives.govt.nz/) for people that have worked for NZ Govt agencies/departments. Plus tons of other info, e.g probates, military, divorce, govt loan, etc. Some records can only be viewed at the nearest archives facility (e.g Wellington, Auckland), downloaded, etc or may require a court order through the justice department.

I eventually found the one I was looking for on Memory Tree.
Missed the funeral by a few months.
Bit of a loophole here.
If you don't check the obituaries everyday, how are you supposed to know.
