Hi

Looking for some advice on how I can protect my photos from being copied and downloaded onto personal computers. I run an agency in Wellington (The Bedroom.co.nz if you want to see the site) and would like to protect the privacy of the women by stopping men keeping their photos.

I've been told it's impossible to do this but have been on other websites where you can not 'copy and paste' photos, so is there a way?
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
Sarah

http://www.hypergurl.com/norightclick.html gives information and code on how to stop people copying images.

However, people will always be able to take a screenshot, so you won't be able to stop people obtaining the images.

The only answer is to never put an image onto the net.

Otherwise, you're stuck with disguising features or restricting accessibility.

The No Right Click routine can be beaten simply by turning off Java, so it only stops the very average users... who are probably too green to even know it's possible to save images anyway.

Otherwise, keeping pic behind a password protected section of the site would offer a little more security from being indexed by Google and shared worldwide forever... but still wouldn't stop someone who was intent of retaining an image.

I suggest your girls might have more to fear from a privacy breach at IRD than from their work website. Either way, they're screwed (bad pun intended).

You could always put a name on the photo like this is the property of or this photo is copyrighted, but if someone is really intent on getting your photos they can very easily photo shop that out.

Java restriction and a nice big watermark are the only ways.

given the fact that the images are a small size and have artifacting on them, i think people would sooner google 'hot boobies' than save those images anyway. don't worry about it.

Other than java + water marks you can scale your images back so that the resolution is useful for web viewing but otherwise useless should the person who takes it want to make it larger, this only resticts the options the person who obtains the image has, it doesn't stop it and also means that you can't have big HD images for your customers.

A more technical approach is to use a image viewing script that renders the image in a windows that can't be copied such as a flash or java applet however screenshots can still be obtained. I think by that stage you won't really be getting an image of usable quality. Anyone who is desperate enough to get a hold of your ladies pics and stays to get past that protection really should pay to meet them in person.

As I am researching website design I checked yours out.

As with most escort sites, you are not showing the ladies face, so I don't think there will be any problems.

I don't recognize my girl friend working there!

But as others have said, it is quite easy to get raunchy pictures on the net.

The only problem I see from you and your staff's problem is people trying to identify your staff.

But with no face, that is going to be "hard"

Nice site by the way.

Lucklily or unluckily I am miles away in Tauranga.

Have you tried joining NZ Girls ?

It has a very high Alexa rating.

x2 what everyone else said.

No matter what you do to prevent downloading, there is always the loophole where "if it can be viewed it can be saved, one way or another" If you're worried about copyright or such, put a watermark.

If you just don't want people to save the images, go with some kind of protection script which should stop the idiots. Won't stop anyone with a brain though.

Thanks for all your information. What is an Alexa rating? We are on NZ girls as a business, but they have many restrictions on advertising each individual woman (have been with them for 8 years) and restrict you advertising with other sites.
I think as you all have said, there are no faces so may just leave as is or put text across it as other websites have taken it upon themselves to take the images and advertise individual women without my permission (to boost their own sites with 'private workers').

Thanks again to all who gave advice on this!
