I'm looking for this "Intel(R) 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller -1C26" driver for Win 8.

Can anyone guide me along? Been to Intel site but led me to nowhere. My current driver doesn't work well with Win 8's update, KB2756872, causing intermittent detection issues. Hope the new driver (if any) works OK with this Win8 update.

The bottom two zipped files in the following link under latest say they are for windows 8 --- looking at the location they are actually coming from Dell. Dont know if they are the right ones or not.

Spent over an hour and a half searching for the 1C26, and each and every one I found actually goes to the 1c2d.

Maybe there isn't one for windows 8 -- might be tough out of luck. Sometimes with older hardware the drivers are simply not available for a new OS :confused:have you tried installing a window 7 version ?

Heres meant to be a link to W7, its just above the big green download button with two red arrows.

If its only 1 KB from MS thats causing the problem, remove it and don't let it install in the future.

Whats the actual motherboard again ?
