View Full Version : Restore problem on a Sony Vaio

22-11-2012, 11:35 AM
I am working on a Vaio VPCEH27FG.

I needed to clear the system and reinstall Windows 7 on it, usualyl no big deal.
Started the restore procedure and it was going fine till it crashed (no error) during the process.

Now it will not restart the process and I am a bit stuck.

Any ideas?

a bit more info ??
Restoring from recovery partition, or Win7 CD, or Sony recovery CD , or other etc ?
What do you mean by wont restart the process ?, wont boot from cd?, wont go into recovery mode ??

Is the Hard Drive working 100% ??

Hopefully, you dont have to do this (http://eric.chromick.com/windows/accessing-the-recovery-partition-on-sony-vaio-vgn-nr385e-use-f10/#axzz1Ykjq7hMx)

This may or may not work (http://forums.techguy.org/tech-tips-tricks/1047596-solved-hp-recovery-via-base.html)

Or do something like this if there's a wim.file on that hdd (http://neosmart.net/forums/showthread.php?t=5399)

It seems to have started up again on its own.
I hope it just works this time those options you linked look painful.

Will not install windows, will not access recovery wizard.

At least that was the case seems ok now, *fingers crossed*

Make sure the Memory and Hard Drive are ok with Memtest and Seatools before continuing further.
