Can't use the Play To feature with Windows 8 to the WDTV Live. Network shares otherwise operate as they did before and although the server can see the WDTV, the WDTV can't see the server. Same issue as well with the Blue Ray player and network sharing.

I've already read there are DLNA issues with Windows 8 - anyone got a WDTV that is working with Windows 8?

Any ideas how to fix the issue?

Have you tried this? (http://community.wdc.com/t5/WD-TV-Live-Firmware-Networking/WDTV-Live-and-Windows-8-Sharing-and-Live-accounts/td-p/494740)

Did you do a clean install or an upgrade to Win8? You may have to create a local account, as well

No idea if the following will help, don't have WDTV to try it -- WD-TV-Live-Streaming-Discussions/Windows-8-WDTV-Live (http://community.wdc.com/t5/WD-TV-Live-Streaming-Discussions/Windows-8-WDTV-Live/td-p/498502)

The symptoms are pretty much as reported but I am using a local account (unless I don't quite follow the solution).

Turned on my other two Windows 8 installs (both clean installs) and they both work with WDTV.

This one wasn't a clean install and doesn't work.

Comparison of settings and discovered in the devices settings that "WDTV not Windows certified"

There seem to be a few posts around on that now to read, but if all else fails a clean install looks like it will do the trick.

After mucking around with settings for a while - I can Play To anything from any computer, content from any DLNA device on the network. But i still can't get the PC with the original problem to be seen as a Windows Share choice on the WDTV.

Really weird, but perhaps a clean install will fix all.

Does seem it helps to have a non-Microsoft e mail login - even when you return to local account.

However that may be a red herring.
