Searching for specs on this model I am a bit confused about the OS. I see mentioned the Honeycomb 3.1 OS and the Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 OS. I presume the later is on the newer version?. Would there still be both OS Tablets on the markert.
Can someone enlighten please?.

AFAIK all tab2 10.1 models are running ice cream sandwich.

I watched a video which referred to Honeycomb 3.1 OS, perhaps it was an old model although some of the comments were recent.

Could be the video hasn't been updated... Either way, any new Galaxy Tab that was running Honeycomb when sold would auto-update to ICS....

are you sure

Yes I am however you would, I believe, have to do it via Kies and accept the update so it is not entirely automatic.

yep, there is a ics version available for the tab2 10.1. I'd be surprised if any did still come with honeycomb though, all I've had a play around with in stores have ics on them.

Are you happy with it?.

Yes. Though I think it could a bit quicker like the new Galaxy Note tablet. The only other issue I've got is I can't login to Tradme via it. Comes back with a login error though it's ok from my SGS2.. Maybe a general problem with the TM app and android tablets..

I have an Asus Eee 1015PED Netbook and I had hoped that the TAB2 would be faster?. If I can't login into Trademe that would be a minus for me. Will be interested to hear if you sort out that problem. That is not something that you would even consider could happen.

This (http://www.harveynorman.co.nz/asus-transformer-tf300-32gb-with-dock.html) might work for you, you can get a 16gb model without dock for a fair bit less.

EDIT - oops, doesn't look as though you can. You can get a 32gb model without dock for a bit less, but no 16gb in sight. Don't know if it is within your budget or not.
