What is so amusing about someone having a mental break down (or attempting suicide) and ending up in hospital? Just goes to show you how damaging cyber-bullying can be. It wouldn't take much for a vulnerable child to be driven to suicide when bullied in such a manner.

Hope those 'keyboard warriors' feel really great about those messages now. Easy to attack someone when they are not in front of you. :groan:

Most of them are spineless individuals that hide behind their computers. Too bloody scared to say it in person.

The article didn't give a lot of info but it does sound like she bought it upon herself.

Not really. Just knowing what is happening could do it for some people.
@Mikebartnz - I was wondering about that. Doesn't make what the others did right, but I think that if you do some things you have to be prepared to show a thick skin.

The sad thing is they probably do, they probably think it's hilarious :(

To qualify, I thought the headline was funny, the results not so much.

But really, someone who has made a career out of being a "celebrity" and milking the public reaction to as much of her life as she can get in front of them, should be prepared to cop a bit of **** as well.

+1 Yes it's just a way for this basically talentless woman to get a bit of publicity...she was caught cyber-bullying herself 6 months ago!:groan:

Regardless of her history, no one needs to be abused and personally attacked that way. Some of the comments tweeted to her should be tracked down and the posters have their computer/devise taken off them. Why are those sorts of people even following her - just to give her abuse? thats worse than stalking. Bullying can have a huge effect on people to the point where they want to top themselves, thats nothing unusual, just look at some of the kids state of mind that have been subjected to prolonged bullying due to being fat, or wearing glasses, etc.

Maybe those abusing her are jealous of her success, good looks, celebrity status, etc. As for her comments "New Zealand is small, nasty and vindictive. It's a tiny, little village ... a tiny country at the end of the earth," well, she aint far wrong.

My opinion only.

SHe shouldn't have continued her online sparring until 3am.

Kiwis are unlikely to be attacking her at that hour of the morning (more like 5am here).

While I can sympathise, she brought it on herself by responding to it... fanning the flames (and the flamers), and in her position a thicker hide is definitely called for.

Get tougher, get smarter, or get a less public career.

Wasn't she in the news bad mouthing NZ'ers in a book she wrote. If you are going to throw it, make sure you can wear it. It sounds like she has been emotionally on the edge which is strange considering the only reason why her book made the news (here in nz) was because of the way she basically chastised kiwi's. Sounds like she overplayed her hand, unless of course this is another subplot to sell more books?

Her looks are on the wane so she has to turn to something.

Drama queen.

Unfortunately, thats probably all there is to it. Possibly(probably) not 100% stable

takes away from those who suffer from REAL bullying

She's not a child is she.

In fact I have no idea who she is, don't care, another in the media type. Being called names on a public noticeboard, hos[ital? Bit of a drama queen....
Simple, don't join these things in the first place. And as for the comments, so don't bother reading them, or getting worked up about it.

Says she gave as much as she got, probably a media stunt for new book.

What hypocrisy.

I can't fathom why anyone would want to read a book by her anyway as it would be more interesting reading the back of a Corn Flakes packet.

Went out for a few beers last night and suffered a Twitter attack down a dark alley, luckily I managed to Facebook them and got away without too much damage. It's dangerous out there, maybe I should stick to Yammer.
