As the thread title says, I'm after some decent free software to draw up network diagrams - doesn't need to be anything too flash, was hoping the end product may look something like this.

Thanks.

http://www.gliffy.com/ - Free version only allows up to 5 diagrams and it's all cloud based.

I just use Excel's drawing tools and import any icons I want into it, not free but if you already have it it does the job.
Then again I also have Visio at work if I need to get serious :)

Actually I do have access to Visio. Should really have tried that first. :p

if you actually wanted to muck with the config too, you could use packet tracer or something.

NetworkNotepad is quite nice, and is a bit more than just a diagram tool.

I use OOo Draw, surprise surprise :) It's designed for doing flowcharts and the like and I have the Oxygen Office accessories extension which has all the network clipart and diagram stuff

I have used a trial visio but then found DIA which is very similar but free.

I did all my network diagrams for my studies with DIA

I second DIA - I believe it is not as good as Visio - but hey it is free!
