Hello PC world fans. I have a computer for sale/trade here and I would like to know how much i should charge in order to sell it. This computer is less than a year old and Is at its finest condition. Its basically brand new. here are the specs as follows

CPU: Intel I7 2600k 4 core processor w/ hyperthreading so basically it works like a 8 core processor.
RAM: Corsair 1666 ddr3 ram, 16 gb 4x4. Dual channel
MB: Asus maximus 2 ROG edition
HDD: 2tb internal HDD, SLAVE!
SSD: vertex 3 ocz 120gb SSD, 540 mbps read and write
DD: 2 disk drives, asus and LG, both highest read and write capabilties.
Internet, 2 WLAN connections in the back + asus wireless N+ usb adapter
case: Coolermaster haf x 9-- case, its lower than 942 by ONE. forgot the name, can't find it
GPU:asus 590, dual core 1.5 gddr5 GFX, 1.5GB EACH, so 3gb in total
OS: WIndows 7- will be deleting when selling, I AM SELLING JUST THE COMPUTER, NO OS.
PSU: Corsair 1000W If I missed something please tell me. also a 22" LG monitor. Give me highest possible price. NEVER OVERCLOCKED, NO BAD BLOCKS, NO DEAD PIXELS, NO SCRATCHES NO DENTS, Its completely like i just bought it an hour ago and i just unpacked it and placed it. It has NO dust, it has been cleaned yesterday and will be cleaned once again when buyer will come/ shipping. So how much USD would you use on a computer like this? when I bought it total was over 4k CAD.

US$ huh?

That explains a lot... like the insane amount of RAM.

I'll give you tree-fiddy for it. (US$3.50)

On a more serious note, it's worth a ton less than you paid for it, and really not worth any more than a brand new mid spec machine with OS and GPU installed.

But you asked what the MOST was you could get for it... well that all depends on how big a fool you can find, with the biggest fool being the one who pays the biggest price for it.

If you look in the mirror you might see your ideal customer.

Oh calm down. I'd probably pay about $2000 for it. You could sell the parts separately, you may get more for it.

Do you mean NZD or USD?
NZ dollars, compared to what you can buy in NZ for $2000 new.

Yeah that price seems about right:)

I reckon you'd get about $1400US ($1750NZ) without the screen, more if you parted it. That's on NZ prices so in the states you'll get less, parts are cheaper retail and more readily available. Might get like $100NZ for the screen. Depends how stupid the buyer is. The thing is it's all very well having something like a 590 GTX but if you can get say 2 cheap 570's you'd be silly to buy the 590 (unless you were after max performance in very specific tasks).

so basically it works like a 8 core processor

Not entirely true and almost pointless anyway.

It is going to be far harder to sell at a good price with no OS.

Worth pointing out that VRAM is mirrored so you don't really have a 3gb gfx card (even though there is 3gb there physically)

alrighty, if I were to install a copy of windows 7 ultimate 64 bit..... And remember this computer is only a year old. You can practically use it like a server due to its cpu, and ram. plus it has an ssd. so that should be increasing the speed OH AND GUYS
READ THE REST, i also said it comes with a monitor. so what would be your final AND HIGHEST price if you had a lot of money

The specs are nice but myself I wouldn't spend that much on a 2nd hand machine, $2000NZ would seem about right if I was going to.
How I price my machines when I sell them is to price up the nearest new equivalent and then reduce it based on age more or less like this;
(note prices relate to a new equivalent machine not the original purchase price which has no relevance)
<3 months old ~ 75% of new
<6 months old 60-75%
<1 yr 50-60%
18 months or more - up to 50%

This is only rough and I usually sell things cheaper TBH because usually I've already built a replacement and I'm just trying to recover some cash

Yeah, NZD$2000 sounds about right. Could build a new machine for around $3k with comparable or better spec.

Mmm I'll echo the sentiments, you'll likely get ~$1800 for it?

SSDs are coming down in price *rapidly* now...

General used rule is 70% of it's value, seeing as it's not more than 1 year old.

CAD$3500 is NZ$4300. I could build a higher spec box brand new for that. Thanks, but no thanks. Plus shipping would suck :P

Works like a 8 core processor? Um, no.
2tb internal HDD, SLAVE. Slave? Not unless its IDE (which it isnt).
dual core 1.5 gddr5 GFX, 1.5GB EACH, so 3gb in total. Nope.
This is BETTER THAN ALIEN WARE. Really? Check the Aurora ALX R4!!
THE BEST computer you will ever have. Its already old and its not that expensive to get a better one.
NO DEAD PIXELS. I hope not, as there is no monitor advertised with it.
You can use this computer as a server. I wouldnt even use it as a file server.
THIS PRODUCT IS NEW. Um, not it isnt, its used!!

Bordering on false advertising I would say there.
No keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers. I would think about $2000 CAD over-priced unless things are stupidly expensive in Canada.

so what would be your final AND HIGHEST price if you had a lot of money

To be honest, i wouldn't buy this pc if i had alot of money because i could buy myself a specilised pc for what i need. And why are you trying to persuade us to put our prices up? You're the one who chooses the final price. Put it at whatever price you want. We are just giving our opinion, but you as the seller/owner gets to choose the price, but remember, a higher price will lead to less buyer and attraction, so yeah.

To be fair it's a common problem, people spend a fortune on a decent PC and when they decide to sell it expect to get a good portion of the money back. What's difficult to accept is PCs devalue very quickly and that newer cheaper hardware performs just as well as a more expensive older machine. I tried to point out that what you purchase something for has no bearing on it's value when it's time to sell it, but perhaps the point was missed. In any case maybe someone will buy it and the OP will be happy. or he'll have to keep lowering the price until he finds out what someone will actually pay. We offered our opinions he obviously disagrees.

Anyone in the market for a decent gaming pc would take this for $1 over that: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=499906165

Seems legit.

Probably, but if anyone is too stupid to notice it's a joke they get what they deserve.
