Hi

Im wanting a tablet with phone capabilities.

best example of what im looking for is the telecom zte v9 see link below
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=489765823

problem with the zte is its getting old and id prefer something with a more up to date operating system etc

does anyone know of, or can recommend a tablet with phone capabilities in the lower end price bracket??
something i can text and ring off but still use as a fully functioning tablet??

sorry if this post is in the wrong part of the forum.....

I though the proper name for a lower end tablet was a suppository. :D

You probably don't wanna be calling from a Tablet. I've tried it. It's far from idea. Great if you wanna do it on the *very* odd occasion...

Nexus 7 doesn't have 3G built in.

EDIT: Also some will let you SMS from them, like the Acer Iconia, but the others I've tried like the Galaxy Tab and the Motorola Xoom don't.

You'll look a bit weird calling from a tablet...

Nexus 7 is the best choice by far for a cheap tablet

Or, in Italy, innuendo.

Interesting statements here. I know the Nexus doesn't support any 3G or 4G ability, but it will have Google Voice in it.

It works very well for me all over the CONUS.

thanks for all your advice guys i appreciate it

im still at a bit of a loss as to what to do though :( there seems to be a few options on trademe for this type of thing but they seem to be rather unsupported and dont come with access to the "google play store" which leaves me to question whether or not they are in fact legit copy's of android o/s's..... very confusing.

i found this and would have happily settled for it but alas im too late and the deal is now closed!!!

I would say wait untill you can get your hands on the new nexus7, it has made every other cheap android tablet pointless, I would go one step further and say its made every other android tablet redundant.

Short answer no

The ZTE v9 does. I know as I have one I'm looking to offload.

how much were you after for the zte v9??

if the price is right i could take it off your hands?
they are quite over priced on trade me.....

also how do you find it to use??

I don't easy enough to use. I'm just trying to offload it as I bought a laptop which took away my need for a tablet - yes I know that it can do more than just internet browsing but that was all I wanted it for. The resistive touchscreen isn't as good as a capacitive one, but is actually pretty good.

I'll upload a picture tomorrow, to show the condition it is in to you (btw, its in great condition, no scratches and it has always had a screen protector. How much were you thinking?

Nope, $200 - 250 seems reasonable. But, I'll post a pic or two tomorrow and see what you think.
If you do choose to get it, It would include its box, a USB to micro USB cable, a charger, and a 2gb micro SD card.
