See the image below. Does that mean it's an 8GB memory card? - Thanks

It means that an 8GB card is included at that advertised price.

I assume that the 8G"E" in your topic header was a typing mistake? :)

Yes, it means an 8gb memory card for your camera. The SD is the name of that type of card, to differentiate it from SDHC and SDXC cards.

Technically an 8GB SD card is a mistake, as SD cards can only go up to 4GB. An 8GB card would be SDHC.

Yeah, well - five phone calls to B&B (not your overnight stay variety), including two promises of ring backs that didn't happen, and a lot of time later, they've finally admitted that they had left the 8GB "SD" card out of the special offer bundle (as per the website "snip" above) and are supposedly couriering it to me. I'll wait and see what actually turns up, whether it works in the camera, and then possibly have to start all over again..

Any ammunition you can feed me in the meantime would be great - eg I didn't know about the SD<=4GB thing before.

I wait with bated breath....... ;)

Ok, here's the best info I can give.
SD cards have a limit of 4gb
SDHC cards have a limit of 64gb
SDXC cards have a limit of 2tb
The canon sx 150 is supports SD, SDHC, and SDXC memory cards. So, any of these cards will work in your camera. Just make sure you're given an 8gb card, and they don't try to sneak you a smaller one.

HI PPp

According to this (http://www.dicksmith.co.nz/dsnz/navigation/product_details.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=8455244419 85247&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=282574488364473&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=1408474395182617&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=1408474395182617) it'll use SD, SDHC and SDXC.

It'll be interesting to see what they actually end up sending

Well, id it is 8gb it will have to be a SDHC card. Can't be a SD or SDXC card.

EDIT: SDHC cards only go up to 32gb, not 64gb. Sorry for the dud info

From what I can tell, SDHC and SDXC are identical, except that the latter comes formatted as exFAT.

"According to this it'll use SD, SDHC and SDXC".

Sorry site I looked up did not mention the other two cards under specs. You're not likely to get SD cards, as they are not commonly stocked anymore.

SD Range 128MB-2GB Format FAT16
SDHC 4GB-32GB FAT32 Hope that helps.(Courtesy SanDisk and Google)
SDXC 64GB-2TB exFAT

(Edit)Sorry formatting not to good

Well, B&B finally admitted that they were in error, and a Kingston Technology 8GB SDHC card turned up yesterday. Th interesting thing was that it had two price labels on it. A label for $29.99 had been stuck over a label for $24.99. Maybe they were just trying to make me feel that I was getting a better deal.

According to them there was some "confusion" about whether it was a B&B on line purchase or a Noel Leaming one. In any event it was probably worth hanging on for although, in the final analysis, they should have got it right in the first place.

Thanks
