View Full Version : Installing second OS i.e. XP on Win 7 PC

I got new PC with Win 7 on that. I want to install another operating system i.e. Win XP on that. So that at the time of boot, it should ask me to choose one of them to boot from.
I searched the net and found that we require to repair the Win 7 boot manager after installing XP. Other wise it will always boot from Win 7.

As I haven't tried this kind of things before, Please guide me with easy steps to manage these.

You could try this. (http://neosmart.net/wiki/display/EBCD/Installing+XP+After+Vista+or+7). I've never tried it after installing Win7. I usually install XP then Win7 / whatever

I've installed xp after 7 before. It will wipe the 7 boot loader so you have to download a program called easy BCD and then add in the entry for windows 7. Then you can play around with default and timing.

Edit: didn't see speedy's link.
