I am having a problem printing out e-mails from Outlook Express. My HP Photosmart 8230 will print out only the header of the e-mail, and that's it! Everything else is left blank. If I go back to an old e-mail it prints OK, so I guess the problem lies in Outlook Express rather than the printer. Any ideas??

I don't have a good solution, but a crude workaround that usually works is cutting and pasting into wordpad to print.
I get occasional E-mails that won't print properly with outlook 2003 and that's what I do.

Yes, that worked dugimodo, but I would still like to fix the underlying problem. Thanks though.

See if this is selected (http://fleamour.wordpress.com/2011/10/27/outlook-express-6-wont-print-email-body/)

Tools ==> Options ==> Connection ==> Internet Connection Settings ==> Change ==> Advanced ==> Printing ==> Check “Print background colours and images” box.

No Speedy, that didn't work. Restored all defaults while I was there, but made no difference. Tricky one!

What version of IE is installed?? Some sites say IE7 has something to do with the way OE prints

IE8 is installed, but I don't use it, being a Firefox man! But the funny bit is that printing from OE has up until now worked fine.

Try this, may or may not make any difference -- open a run command, type in regsvr32 ole32.dll Press enter, then regsvr32 inetcomm.dll.

The problem may actually be Internet Explorer, not Outlook express since IE controls outlook Express.

Another fix would be to install win 7 and I/E 9.

Thank you Cicero. I knew an old head would have an expensive solution. Bah!

As mentioned in previous post, you may find its ACTUALLY IE causing the problem.

Have a read of can-t-print-body-of-e-mails-in-outlook-express-6-0/ (http://forums.cnet.com/7723-6142_102-334981/can-t-print-body-of-e-mails-in-outlook-express-6-0/) There are several things to try, you may find its also IE8 Causing the problem -- outlook express is an old program & now out dated - you may have to revert back to IE7 (thats also in that listing) Try them all, one hopefully will work.

Fixed it!!! All I did was reinstall IE8 and all is well again. Something must have got corrupted at some stage.

Thanks for the help and suggestions. :thanks
