Outlook 2010 shutting down

Have new laptop with Outlook 2010. Since last week at least 3 times a day a message comes up saying Windows has encounted a problem with Outlook and is shutting it down. Often lose what I am working on ie new email half way through typing. Any reason? Thanks.

with outlook closed, click start and go to the RUN box, type in outlook.exe /resetnavpane and hit enter. This has helped me with outlook crashing at times.
