Hi all,
Does anyone have any experience with the Apad Starter? Here http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=445847965
I'd really like an iPad but cannot afford one at the mo. All comments good or bad appreciated!

I think you will be nothing but disappointed, wether its a iPad or android tablet, I will say anything under the $700 mark is crap.

Damn, thats cheap. Tonights meal cost me more then that.

But yeah, if you don't want junk then don't buy junk.

and on that note, if you don't want anal then don't buy apple.

iPad is great - particularly for the non-geeky types (such my 'other half'). Best present I ever got him (well nearly!). :)

Yeah I tried 3 of the el-cheapo "Android APAD" type devices. Steer clear from them. I *really* hoped they'd be nice, but they're not. Go for a reputable brand, like the Asus Transformer. You'll be very pleased with it! :)

Yeah, that Asus Transformer does look very nice and sleek. I like the specs too, but way out of my price at the moment. Will consider it though, I also like the Samsung Galaxy one too. They are both on a par with iPad.
After doing a little more research, I will definitely stay away from Apad!

Anyone got an opinion on one of these (http://www.noelleeming.co.nz/shop/computers/tablet-computers/acer-iconia-tab-a200-iconia-a200-android-10-1-tablet/prod114587.html)? Big name brand and alright specs, but cheap compared to the rest.

Actually that's really tempting, the Iconia is one of the ones that reviewers rate highly, and has the most I/O options of any tablet except the transformer(and then only if you have the dock). It's probably in the top 3-5 Android tablets of that generation of hardware after the Galaxy and transformer.

Edit: i think I was confusing it with a different model but it still sounds good http://www.pcworld.idg.com.au/review/tablets/acer/iconia_tab_a200/410916

Just got one of these at Dick Smiths on Chilling's good advice! http://eee.asus.com/eeepad/transformer/features/

$549 down from $629 It is the 16GB one, doesn't have the docking keyboard. It'll be absolutely fine for my needs.

Not sure if i should be looking forward to it or not.

Was going to buy the new ASUS slider.

I've tried the slider, didn't like it as much as the Transformer, just didn't feel "right".

Awesome to hear LL, let us know how you find it :)

I've not tried the A200 Iconia, only the A500. It was nice, felt more "industrial" though... Decent all around tablet though!
