I have an ongoing problem with my Broadband from Orcon. The download is very erratic, normal at 13Mbps then suddenly drops to about .7Mbps. Upload is constant at 8Mbps. Every time I report it I get a **** stupid Email

That's it !!
If I create a new query they get me to run a diagnostic program and send the results. Then I get another stupid Email:angry

I have the Genius VoP modem. Usually very good, but I am getting really anti about the whole thing.

This is the way it is. All ISPs in NZ are somehow very similar.

Just bear with it, sadly.

Probably has something to do with the fact that NZ internet sucks and so does most of the hardware that is used by the companies providing it.

Where is this download from that you're testing?
If you do a speedtest to other NZ providers, what speeds do you get?
What speeds does your Genius router say you're syncing at?
How are VoIP calls, specifically if you do two at once?
Does it happen at a similar day / time of day?
Where are you *physically* located, perhaps if you provide your rough street address, somebody can confirm if you've been cabinetized lately or something to that effect?

You know what'd be really cool is if we had a sort of "verified authentic" thing, similar to Google+ or Geekzone that we could attach to certain members to validate that they are from XYZ company.

Anyways, it's good to see Orcon here and taking an interest in fixing their customers issues :)

Here's mine on Orcon, it's been great for the past few months. Have you reset the modem at all?
