I am a new Linux user and am trying to find out how I can config my 3com network card. I am using Mandrake 7.1 and it detects the card and has a driver for it but I cant find (on the web) any tutorials that are at my basic level of Linux. Thanks a lot.

Excuse me, Mr Network Card,
Do you realise you posted this message twice?

Copy & paste this link into your browser and have a hunt around. Do your self a favour and if you are serious about Mandrake you can get the latest version 8.1 for $20 from here www.xsolutions.co.nz
It is a vast improvement over the version you are using now.
There is also an excellent book at Whitcoulls just now called 'Red Hat 7 Weekend Crash Course' I know it isn't Mandrake but all the principles are the same and I have found easy to understand and an invaluable help for a newbie like me.
Also use the google search engine some of the 'ingenious?' posters have given us latelty and it will give you dozens of good linux sites, also zdnet and about .com have numerous links and tutorials.
Just have a look around the net there are hundreeds of excellent sites.
Good Luck
Try some of these to get started.

You have probably got the HOWTOs on your CD. They should have been installed on your hard disk. They were written so that people could read them. Check out the other documents ... you have probbaly got at least two books there in html format: the System Administrator's Guide, and The Network Administrator's Guide. RedHad CD's come with the Red HaT Manual ... browse your CD, and see what you can find.
