Can always download you them and then mail it down on a HDD / DVDs if you want? Means you've only gotta do the minor incremental updates as they occur?

As do xnet, However when the xnet steam content server is full or doesn't have the selected content you get bounced to an offshore one, Which I found out when I purchased a few titles during one of their sales.

When I configured the firewall to only get it from the local server I didn't get a single mb of data.

Wouldn't you also have to purchase the titles to access the content?

My plan is to take my laptop to ChCh in the new year, and cane the arse off the internet where we will be staying. Bring the content back home, and transfer it to my PC.

We're on telstra and the steam downloads aren't to bad. Flatmate accidentally redownloaded his entire steam folder of 100 odd gig and it cost us 16gig in internet. When your down metla your welcome to leech our games if we have any you want.

If you put up what games you want/need the files for I'm sure we could find enough people here to cover them all.

Are the Sam & Max games any good? I see they have the complete pack on sale.

Currently working my way through the 'Tales of Monkey Island' game pack which is OK. I'm playing on my laptop, which limits my choice of games...:crying

Tis a throwback to the puzzle games of old. Easy point and click interface. Some funny bits here and there. A little frustrating at times. If it's cheap get it.

I have personally never played Sam and Max but reviewers seem to love the games/series. I've heard that they are rather hilarious to play.

^Yeah I got the orange box for $4.99 so I could get episode 1 & 2. I would have brought them separately but I had a friend who wanted hl2 so I gifted that to him.

Sam & Max is ok. Have played through them twice now. There's some humor, but overall a small nagging degree of tedium to them as well.
No harm if they're going cheap, but not suitable if you want action and guns in your games.

Some good games on sale today notably: Flashpoint (series, oh I'd kill for a copy of red river), Blur, Torchlight, BRINK, Limbo and Mass Effect (Series).
