My experience of Asus is that they do not always stick to the same source with models that carry the same nomenclature, it might be Hitachi or it might be something else. If you can run SIW it will tell you.

Download and run Speedfan, then look under the S.M.A.R.T. tab which should show your hard drive details.

Step one. Make sure laptop is off.

Step two:Take small Philips Screw Driver, remove plastic cover containing HDD from under side.

Step Three: Read the label thats on the drive.

Step Four: screw plastic Cover back on.

Time taken Less than 30 Seconds ;)

Device manager would tell you under disk drives right  More than Likely it will.

All depends of course if the OS /Hard Drive is actually working /Booting. :)
