I've just spent a few hours trying to get Audacity to record 'stereo mix'. Problem turned out to be no Realtek audio driver installed.

In the past when I selected 'Install All' on the MB disc it installed Realtek audio. On my new MB (GA-Z68XP-UD3 Rev1.0) there is no driver on the disc even though screenshots in the manual show it!

The default Win7 audio driver got installed and audio seemed to work OK. I could even record Line-in. But as for recording 'stereo mix', not a hint. It all came right when I got the driver on the Gigabyte site

First it was Microsoft making it difficult to record computer playback. Now Gigabyte. How long before Realtek deletes this ability?

Did you go to gigabytes driver site and get the latest drivers from there?
