How Safe is Safe?

Hi been looking around for a new email client, for some reason Outlook will not install and run on my laptop (but thats another story).Anyway came across this piece of software made in China, warning bells rang, having seen doco's about cyber attacks/wars etc with a lot of activity being traced to China and so I downloaded the programme and then uploaded it to Virus Total to check it out (my AV says it's clean) The results are attached. Is 2/41 deemed to be safe? Would appreciate any feedback before I install, incidentally the programme looks good and there may not be a problem ... but...

why don't you use thunderbird or some other well known program? I would never trust that kind of software

+1 also for Thunderbird.

So easy to use and a degree of customization and add on's such as the calendar etc.

There has been reports of Google blaming Chinese Govt disrupting email (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-12802914). As noted above would not trust a Chinese based software. Thunderbird is the one, and maybe a web based email (e.g Gmail) as a back up.
