I've enrolled at University of Auckland and I'm planning on doing the Tertiary Foundation Certificate. The course hours are 8am-5pm, Monday to Friday. Seems a bit intense! How many of you managed to have a part -time job and attend university (first year) full time?

In my final year of study, I was working as a website administrator for my own business and as a computer technician for the hostel that I was staying at.

So yeah, been there, done that. :p

I worked 20 hours a week my whole way through university (did nightshifts on weekends too), until I did my postgrad. Couldn't work while doing my postgrad as it was very intense and the job market had gotten so bad that it was hard to find an employer who wanted someone to work less than 15 hours a week. You shouldn't have any problems doing the foundation certificate, you just have to organise your assignments around your work schedule. It's definitely preferable to work a job with set hours though, rather than ones that change every week!
