Nissan skyline.....Probably one of the most often stolen cars in NZ....... and watched constantly by the police for boy racers etc.

Wouldn't touch one!

Don't think they steal these ones as much but don't be surprised if your Insurance company don't lump them with the other ones

This model uses the V6 using rear wheel drive or 4 wheel drive, most think the 300/350 is better but cost more

Have had 2 Maxima's still have one and generally Nissan are very reliable

The Nissan VQ motors have got top motor of the year awards a few times. Probably no rocket ship, but should be reliable and comfortable enough. They are the same as the Stagea Wagon chassis and interior wise I believe.

Have to agree, with the reliability for nissan is good. Had 1 maxima 1990 model myself, should never have sold it. Get a GTR, good resale value

Our skyline has cost a shitload to keep running.

I personally wouldn't buy another Nissan, But then I wouldn't have bought the one we have.

Agreed.

that is because the new skyline is a luxury + sports car.

So its both not just sports.

Had a Nissan once. A hose went, OK, changed it, what a mission, then another started to go, to replace them all meant removing the motor, stuff that, flogged it off and bought a Toyota, stuck with Toyota since.

It's s different class of skyline to the previous models - I think a Q35 or something, rather than the R designation? You may want to have a search on Nissan forums, something like skylinesdownunder.com?

Damn, I thought it was pretty flash for a pedal car.
(Surely no-body old enough to drive would buy, or even be seen, in one?)

Ah, they joys of buying overcomplex used cars, when they are at 3/4 of its usual life (10years??)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_Skyline Looks like the v35 model definitely not boy racer material according to this site
