Graphics card died in my 3 year old notebook the other day and I need a new one. Just has to be under $1200 and have a numpad. What do you suggest?

Definitely a Toshiba.

That's very well priced.

+1 for Toshiba. Asus is also very good.
I would get this: http://pbtech.co.nz/index.php?z=p&p=NBKAS56959&name=ASUS-A53SV-Sandy-Bridge-i5-2410M-2.3Ghz-4GB-%282Gx2%29

I just got myself one of these and love it:

That's a very good price too and includes a free upgrade to 8gb ram.
It also has a USB3.0 port.

Damit, why is no one capable of putting a decent res screen on a reasonable price laptop.

Then people are suckers, 1366x768 on a 15 looks horrible.

Have you tried replacing a gfx card in a laptop?

That Asus turned up the other day, fantastic thing, can't recommend it enough. After reinstalling to removed 90% of the bloat anyway. :p

I thought the same thing, but it's not blatantly labelled at all - just looks like a normal small backpack. There are so many pockets in it, I didn't actually count them but I would say 30+. :D

Yea loving the new Asus as well.
I also reloaded but only because I had to put our Win7 Pro on to log on to our domain.
The sound out of the speakers is awesome compared to any other laptop I've ever heard.
