Windows repair tool (http://www.thewindowsclub.com/repair-windows-windows-repair-tool) . Its a self extracting file. Once you run it, you can reset everything. Just tried it in XP mode. Since (for some reason) everytime I booted into XP mode, the firewall wouldnt turn on (it did but like 30 secs - a minute after windows had loaded). Resetting everything seemed to fix it. But, if your system is infected, it may pay for you to scan the hdd first. It works with XP/Vista/2003/2008/Win7

Just watched the video of it on the downloads page, looks like it will be a very helpful tool and could save a lot of time.
Thanks Speedy :thanks
