Can someone please tell me how to change the format of the blank page that word 2007 opens when you want a new document?

I have tried saving a different template but can't find the name of the basic new page.

Look forward to any comments

Thanks

What specifically do you want to change?

The original blank page has an extra line formatted onto the paragraph marker. This means an extra line is added to every time you start a new paragraph. - Very annoying!

This might not be what you want, but give it a go. Right click on your new document, left click on Paragraph, then go to Spacing (bottom of page), change the Before/After numbers as needed. Then click and save Default (at the very bottom) to make permanent changes. :)

Edit the default template - usually called normal.dotm (Word 2007). Go to Open files and click on Templates folder - it should be in there.

Quite true but it always looks better if the asker of the question has at least made an effort themselves.

Many thanks for your help. That has fixed it. I had spent a long time looking and trying to find normal.dotm and your help got me there.
Thanks again
