My vote goes to Teen Spirit.

Moronic junkie of limited capabilities has crappy song over-produced and heavily modified by commercial con-men and people proclaim him as the rock n roll messiah.

Tragic.

Aqua have more integrity.

Meh.

This makes me pity the people who lived on into the current decade - music got worse, much worse.
Also, why no mention of those god awful boybands? David Hasshehoff??

But in truth, this is the worst song of the 90s (and all time for that matter - unless you are a pedophile) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XwLLH9EZiqc

Also, Barbie Girl is so awe-inspiringly bad that it is actually awesome.

Nope. Tiny Tim will always win the worst song award...and artist.

If they were that bad, why were the majority of them such big hits??

Thank god that Macarena is listed there, I hated that one with a passion !!!!

They are aimed at children, morons and house wives.

Thats like asking why Mcdonalds is successful, After all its not good food or well priced....

They know their market and sell to them perfectly.

I listened to the first few seconds of the video. Take away that annoying bump, bump sound and it might be alright.

Everyone will have a different answer, I don't mind some of the ones already posted too much.
We all have our personal taste.

Wrong, wrong, wrong, Metla. Compared to Tiny Tim's shite your worst one wins.

It's by The Proclaimers and is from 1988.

I can't believe that worst songs of the 90's listen doesnt have the spice girls. They are the worst group of all time and need to be erased from history.

Look to the 70's & early 80's for the really bad songs.

I still maintain IMHO that "In The Kitchen At Parties" is the all time low that pop music descended to :groan:

*Remembers* the howls of indignation and rage that this pronouncement earned in a previous post. *Ducks* *Hurriedly signs off*

The 80's with it's big hair, power ballads and New Romantics was equally as bad as the 90's. But don't list the awesome Glam rock of the 70's in there it stands on it's own as a great era up there with the swinging 60's
