Hi All,

I am using the Avast free Antivirus software and it is nagging me to re-register. However, no matter how meany times I have attempted the procedure it will no re-register itself.

My question is what would be a good replacement before the license finally expires.

Am using WinXP SP3 with all the updates and Comodo Firewall with current updates.

Thanks

Les

Microsoft Security Essentials is free, or get Nod 32 the best paid for one.

I'm using Avira it like Avaast in that it has a free version.

I have no probs with it for a year.

I'd rather go Commando than use MSE.

I'm using Avira.
Another vote for Avira.

Only things I don't like about MSSE is that is has very few options and no way to configure updates.

no way to configure updates.

They come through Windows Update :)

Another reason not to use it :D

I can't remember the last time I ran Windows Update.
WSUSOffline suits me well.

I usually use avast but one a couple of times its been dissabled by malware but an uninstall and install from cd of MSE works.

So +1 MSE

Only thing I don't like about MSE is that it is written by Microsoft !

Hi,
Why not just uninstall Avast using Revo Uninstaller and then reinstall Avast, personally I think it's superior to MSE.

Cheers

So may we assume you do not use Windows at all then?
