I sent an email with a photo attachment to a friend in Australia but was returned with the following:

"The original message was received at Mon, 5 Sep 2011 22:56:17 +1000 from omp1002.tnz.mail.aue.yahoo.com []

----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors ----- <xxxx@optusnet.com.au (mblim@optusnet.com.au)>

(reason: Insufficient permission)

(expanded from: <xxxx@optusnet.com.au (mblim@optusnet.com.au)>)

----- Transcript of session follows ----- Mail quota exceeded.

550 5.0.0 <xxxx@optusnet.com.au (mblim@optusnet.com.au)>... Insufficient permission"

How do you explain that? "Mail quota exceeded" propably meaning his mail box is full; but what is this "Insufficient permission"?

Looks like it means the same thing his email is full. He'll have to delete some of his emails

Unsure about the insufficient permissions, but the issues are certainly at his end. can you send a text only message?

His mailbox might be almost full, with enough space to let say a 40kb message through, but not enough for a 500kb image. I would send a few test email and maybe get him to call optusnet and have a chat to the helpdesk about it. he's probably got more than he's supposed to in his webmail.
