Hi,

Suprise, suprise, it doesn't load on startup!

So ,I went through a usual daily routine to see if anything I did caused it to run.

Dialed-up - nothing
opened outlook - nothing
opened IE 5.5 - aha!
closed IE 5.5 - mdm gone again!!!

what on earth could be causing IE to run mdm.exe?

How canI stop it?
[WinME]

Cheers
GP

Mdm.exe is the Machine Debug Manager, which is used by the Windows NT Option Pack and Microsoft Developer Studio to provide application debugging. When Script Debugging is enabled for Internet Explorer, the debug manager is initialized whenever Internet Explorer is started.

To remove MDM, perform one of the following:

Rename the MDM.exe found in the system root\system32 directory.

-OR-

Remove all registry entries related to 'MDM' and Machine Debug Manager.

-OR-

For each client that will use Internet Explorer, disable Internet Explorer Script Debugging by performing the following steps; Open Control Panel. Double-click the Internet icon. Click the Advanced tab. Click the check box next to 'Disable Script Debugging' to enable it. Click OK. Close Control Panel.
