I need to block facebook for a computer in the house. I am planning on setting up a mac address so only the router will allow network devices with the mac address stored on the router to access the network.

Once this is setup for all the computers, how would I go about blocking facebook for only one/two computers in the house? I am currently able to block facebook for all the computers via the parental control option on the router. (D-LINK 624S is the router).

Can I do this with software on my computer? Prefer not to install software on other computers because it could be disabled by the user. Wifi enabled devices like ipod touch are needed to be blocked also.

What is the best way to do this?

TIA :D

Probably not with anything to do with MAC addresses as they can be easily spoofed.
Have a look at http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090410102639AAb4hRq

If the router has a domain / URL option in it add FB to it But then this will stop anyone

my netgear had that option but also an option for a machine to be whitelisted and not have any of the restrictions on it.
Only needed the machine to have a static to enable, but it did work.

Would some sort of firewall work?

If the user isn't savvy, maybe an entry in the hosts file on that PC?

Wifi enabled devices like ipod touch are needed to be blocked also.

Thats where the problem will be. Blocking on the PC's there is several options (as already mentioned) but since it appears to be on multi devices, then either a white list on the router, or total blockage.

prob two easiest options. Edit hosts files or use windows live family safety. I do both at work.

Run notepad. Open, go to C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\ open hosts file add 127.0.0.1 and a few spaces, then type www.facebook.com Then save as change txt documents down the bottom to all files first then save
