I need a program to recover about 1tb of data from a harddrive that was accidentaly wiped.
I have tried Recuva, it used all 3gb of ram in the machine and so the scan failed.
Any other programs that can recover the files and get their original names?
I have used Photorec before but it does not get file names.
Please help. :help::help::help:

If it was wiped, the chances of data recovery is not so good.

hmm bad choice of words I think, it was erased by a 360.
I am going to run photorec until something else is suggested that will work.

you could try Glary Undelete (http://www.glarysoft.com/products/utilities/glary-undelete/)

If it was ONLY deleted (partition removed, or files deleted), then the chances of data recovery are GOOD, if done correctly, and nothing else was written to that drive

GetDataBack works very well (Runtime Software), isnt free

Wainui swears by Get data back but it's not free Was just going to suggest that :D

You can download a trial From Their site (http://www.runtime.org/data-recovery-software.htm) - what it will do is allow you to scan the drive, and show you if it can recover data, (you can actually see right from the start if its finding anything) if it does, then you need to pay for it to allow it to recover.

It shows the files / folders structure and their contents like any windows explorer tree, some folders may have numbers if they can be recovered, and you have to go looking, or it even has a search function ( once scan is complete) A 1TB drive, will take a few hours of scanning.

I have actually managed to recover data from a formatted drive in the past. Much to the joy of the owner.
