I have the following network:
TelstraClear Cable -> Modem -> Router(192.168.1.1) -> Wireless Router(192.168.2.1)

Now, anything connected to the wireless router (either ethernet or wireless) can see the Internet just fine, but cannot see the LAN (i.e. m/cs connected to the first router).

Can anyone explain that to me?
Is there a way around that?

Look at your IP address on both units -- thats a hint :p

Try changing the Wireless routers gateway to 192.168.1.? Meaning it could be anything between 2 -254 (unless the PC's / Laptops have a static IP.

My Wireless access point for example came with the default gateway of 192.168.1.1 -- Which happens to be the same as the Router :badpc: changed the wireless gateway to 192.168.1.52 and all play nice now.

Change the sub net on the wireless router!!....= 192.168.1.2, and change your dhcp scope on the router to start at say 192.168.1.10

Activate "file & printer sharing". This will give you access to your local network.
