View Full Version : tri screen on dual 560ti's

I'm thinking of going tri screen. what settings can I expect on modern games with 2 asus 560ti cards in sli? would it be worthwhile? or would it be better to go for, say, 2 570s or 2 580s or maybe a 590? I don't have a set budget, but I definitely can't afford 2 590s! I'd go for 3 560s, but my mobo only has 2 slots...

Personally i would get two GTX580's as they together in SLI are faster than a single GTX590, and would probably out perform on a tri-screen setup. its also dependent on if your wanting to use 3D ect.

Quite the possibility, They are good cards and all so you should be fine aslong as the screens you are using are the same dimensions ect (screen res and size).

Not sure about performance but make sure you get cards that vent to the rear for SLI, I caused myself a lot of grief by not considering that. I only run a single monitor at 1080P on my SLI setup which is probably overkill. I was just hoping to be able to max settings for 18 months or so personally.

Maybe google some tri-screen benchmarks, I'm sure they are out there somewhere.

FYI - Only 2 560 can be joined for SLI, if you want more cards, you have to go 570+....
As for 3 x LCD, is this for surround vision?, I think the 1Gb memory on these cards will struggle.

Assuming you're going to be running @ 5760x1080, the 560s will struggle, mostly due to memory limitations as Sol suggested. You'll find in a number of games your FPS hovers in the high20s-mid30s at that res on those cards. The 580s would be much better suited. The 560s are great up to about 3840x1080, but even that is pushing it in the most intense games.

thanks, yes I'm looking at 2d vision surround.
so far my options are 2x 1.5gb 580s or a single 590...
