Has anyone purchased a lap top over seas, say britain or USA ?

What was the experience like ?

Easy secure paying ?

Good sales service ?

What about service for h/w or s/w problems ?

Cheers,

I have had customers with overseas purchased laptops. I'd stick with reputable brands, make sure the shop you buy from is 100% and then it should be OK>

Customers I have had, one had an Acer, had an illegal copy of Windows on it, came from a shop - obviously not reputable and it was also out of warranty, which we discovered after contacting Acer, which was also a total nightmare.

I dont think overseas purchases make much sense unless you are a technician yourself. The NZ $ is so high at present the purchase power of consumer demand in the US is now balanced out especially when you take after sales service into account.

Nearly got fooled into buying a Sony Vaio netbook from a 'street' store. Was sellin for only $300 Nz. Said we would come back next day. Asked a HK friend and he said it's so fake. This was 3 years ago.

If you ever want to buy from HK, go to a store called 'Fortress'. Cheap and real.

Bought a samsung netbook overseas and it had international warranty so no probs.
